Harry Hannah -- Owner / General Manager |
With almost 40 years of experience in construction, Harry has an extensive background in all aspects of building. Quiet and thoughtful he provides expert guidance for our company and our clients. Harry is affable and approachable, a “hands-on” leader…the kind of man you work with and not for.
In his “downtime” Harry enjoys traveling and antiquing with his wife Pat. He’s active in his church – but don’t ask him to sing …please! Transplanted from Canada in his youth, he considers all people living in the continental United States to be southerners. Harry has an appreciation for history, heavy equipment and go-kart racing with grandkids; he loves to read and has a real knack for trivia.

Deb Gray -- Accounting |
Actually born and raised in Western North Carolina, Deb is our Financial Administrator and always happy to take your money. We rely on her to “keep us organized” and make sure that our doors stay open.
Deb is a proud grandma. Practical and diligent, she is a lifelong student who loves to read… she does however admit to being a huge fan of anything Star Trek (go figure).

Tom Rouse -- Operations Director / Designer |
Active in the Timber Framer’s Guild, Tom appreciates the history and theory behind traditional wood joinery. In addition he has acquired a wealth of knowledge through several years of practical timber frame experience. His leadership and coaching plays a key role in the design and crafting of each and every one of our projects.
Originally from Texas, Tom lived for several years in New England, graduated from the University of New Hampshire and like most of us fell in love with western North Carolina and decided to move here and call it home.
A former wilderness EMT, Tom is passionate about the outdoors. When he’s not in the shop; you’ll likely find him hiking, biking or fly-fishing. Tom also likes his sports on the extreme side - rock and ice climbing, mountain biking, Scottish scrambling, backcountry skiing and snowboarding. He has climbed the Andes in South America, skied the Patagonian ice cap and cycled 1600 miles in the British Isles. In his more contemplative moments he enjoys a variety of music from blues to folk and bluegrass, from classic rock & roll to jazz.

Sarah Caldwell -- Designer |
Sarah has a degree in interior design from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and has applied her construction knowledge and artistic skill to our projects from the very beginning. A residential designer for a number of years she has recently made the transition from board drawing to CAD. Sarah and Chuck make their home in the Fletcher area along with 2 girls and 3 boys. She enjoys traveling, visiting historical sites, studying vernacular architecture, collecting and “junking.” Someday, Sarah would like to travel the country by R.V., write a book, and spend her free time (ha, ha) creating art projects.

Mike Hanlon -- Sales / |

Chuck Caldwell -- Supervisor |
An actual southerner, (there are a few) Chuck was born in Georgia and has lived in North Carolina most of his life. Bringing more than twenty years of building experience to the job. Chuck is one of our frame designers and a former construction foremen so he’s right at home on-site; analytical, conservative and friendly - he has a great eye for detail.
With a strong mechanical aptitude – when it comes to appliances, machines or electronics he is known as “Mr. Fixit” around the house. Chuck likes listening to Bluegrass music and he’s a motorhead – he makes a hobby out of working on muscle cars.

Pat Hakanson -- Designer |
Pat brings with her 10 years of experience as an architectural draftsman. Her fondness for woodworking however started long before that when she apprenticed as a wood-patternmaker in the aviation industry. Many other construction skills were further developed during a twenty six year career as a support missionary working in the third world. She has a passion for organization and detail perfectly suited to producing the drawings we need for our timber frame homes.
When not drafting on her computer, you will find Pat as close to water as possible whether sailing in a large boat or racing her model yacht on Lake Tomahawk in Black Mountain. Having lived on three different continents she is happy to now call the mountains around Asheville her home.

Brian Ahn -- Designer / Web Management |
The phrase “perpetual motion” well describes Brian our young CAD wiz kid. When he’s away from the office his diverse hobbies and interests keep him busy. Whether he’s D.J.-ing, producing & engineering music in his studio, playing with his nephew, teaching martial arts, painting or skateboarding he likes to “stay out of trouble.” Brian is the son of an engineer and CAD operator, his brother works for a commercial contractor and it seems that construction just runs in the family. Brian helped to build the house his family currently lives in and hopes someday to design and build his own personal timber frame home.
